Detailed Description
The Portable, Versatile Answer to Low Vision Needs
For students, professionals, and others with macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, or other forms of vision loss, the ONYX Deskset 17 is the magnification solution that goes where you go in one easy-to-carry self-contained package. It fits in any classroom, business, or home and moves from one viewing situation to the next as quickly as you do. Carry it about with a top-mounted carrying handle, and plug it into any standard wall plug; it’s ready to deliver crisp, clear magnification up to 85x.
The ONYX Deskset 17 features a camera mounted on a rotating arm to a 17-inch flat panel monitor. The camera ’s mounting arm has three axes, and the camera itself rotates up to 350 degrees. Place it in an almost endless number of positions to fit any viewing requirement. The camera mounts on either side of the monitor to best accommodate the task at hand.
Three Ways to Magnify
The ONYX Deskset 17 offers three distinct views: distance view, document view, and self view.
In distance view, even objects from across large rooms or auditoriums can be seen in sharp focus.
Document view gives you the ability to magnify items such as reading materials, daily business tasks, classroom assignments, product labels, and craft projects.
With self view, you get a magnified true mirror image close up. Making it even easier to use, the camera remembers its settings in each position so you can switch back and forth between viewing modes without refocusing or otherwise readjusting the camera.
